The pipe heat tape help prevent costly damage by preventing copper and PVC pipes from freezing, enabling water to flow freely. The built-in thermostat turns on the heating cable when it senses the temperature at 40 deg F and protects pipes from cracking and water from freezing down to -40 deg F.
